Play reading 1

Status:Active, open to new members
Leader:
Group email: Play reading 1 group
When: On Thursday mornings
2nd & 4th of the Month at 11- 1pm all year round
Venue: Member's Homes

There is opportunity to socialise at the beginning of the meeting (the host provides tea and coffee) and twice a year, in summer and before Christmas we enjoy a pub lunch together after a morning reading a play.

Group members have the opportunity to get involved in selecting plays and we aim to enjoy a variety from the medieval Geoffrey Chaucer to the modern Jaki McCarrick. Scripts are borrowed from Warwickshire Music and Drama Library at a small charge.

Meetings offer us an opportunity to read a part in a drama without enacting it on stage and with no need to learn the lines. No previous experience is required. There is no typecasting according to age, sex or personality as part of the fun is in playing different roles. We enjoy a convivial, relaxing atmosphere and have interesting discussions which are evoked by many of the plays.
