We are a group of like minded people who enjoy setting ourselves creative projects a few times a year.
It is the essence of this group that we each interpret the challenges a new project brings in many unique ways with only one thing in common the project is textile based.
Over several years we have tried new and many varied techniques using dyes, a multitude of fabrics, specialist products that melt or bond interesting threads, foils, beading, feltmaking and embellishing.
Once or twice a year we may have some inspiration provided by an equally enthusiastic textile artist, who opens our eyes yet again to a world of new possibilities.
We usually attend the annual textile show at the NEC.
'ICE DYING’ a summer garden project with some lovely pictures
We sprinkled powdered fabric dyes on prepared pieces of natural fabric!! Then placed ice cubes over the pieces which melt very slowly distributing the colour to the fabric.
We have little control over the technique so the results are a bit random … but always interesting!
The pieces of fabric can then be used as inspiration for further development!
