It is not a jolly subject but a down to earth description of vehicles, beings and some of the unpleasant happenings. Also countering the conventional view that UFOs come from other worlds, when the evidence is that they have always been here, but may have connections with other worlds or realms. The talk is not illustrated because quality photographs hardly exist and may be fakes. Also the various topics explained in my talk cannot be supported by photographs. This talk is not intended to stretch your credulity but it will, if like most people you have little knowledge of this diverse subject. Analogies of activities are provided to better understand what is going on.

My background is that I am a retired Design Engineer, having obtained qualifications as a Chartered Mechanical Engineer. I was apprenticed as an Automobile Designer in the motor industry with Humber Ltd. part the Rootes Group that became Chrysler U. K. Ltd. having worked on the design of military vehicles, passenger cars, army equipment, aero derived gas turbine powered electricity generating sets or stations, on land and offshore, road rollers and off-road vehicles. For Rolls-Royce, Benford Ltd. in Warwick, Austin-Rover and Land-Rover.

My interests are engineering and its history, all forms of transport by road, rail, air and water. I am a long standing member of Greyfriars Arts & Recreation, Coventry having served for decades on their Committee including Chairman, Vice Chairman, Treasurer and theatre visits organiser. Because of their intensive weekly meetings they are organised and presented (Chaired) by most committee members. I was personally invited to Greyfriars by its Founder for a talk on flying saucers, because of my interest in the subject. I am also a member of Warwickshire Industrial Archaeology Society.

Review

So from Martin:-  I am a retired Design Engineer so practically on a different level to UFO’s etc. I became aware of the subject of unidentified flying objects back in 1963, and as a young man thought that I would soon understand and reach a conclusion about the subject, but not to be

My talk concentrates on the main core of events and happenings and avoids some of the bizarre incomprehensible goings on. I am not asking you to suspend your limits of belief but to question when you see something impossible with your own eyes!

The study of UFO’s is called Ufology and is very complicated, confusing, controversial and mystifying subject. There are aspects of ufology that are incomprehensible to us. There are many questions but not many answers, UFO’s and their occupants are often referred to as ‘extra-terrestrials, aliens from outer space’ but who knows from where!?  I think the evidence is scant in this respect but there is much evidence that they exist everywhere on this earth and have since time immemorial, I refer to them as ufonauts.

UFO’s are not new, evidence of their existence goes back to drawings on pre-historic cave dwellings. During the religious / biblical period in the middle east UFO’s were described as flaming chariots, angels & devils, as well as balls of fire. UFO’s are depicted in many historical documents, paintings and decorations of buildings.

Recorded sightings now amount to millions of reports. One of the first was from an American businessman flying his plane across the Cascade Mountains. An American marine transport plane had crashed but its location was not known so the businessman was on the lookout. He was surprised to see a fleet of shining discs flying very fast. He estimated their speed at between 1000 and 1700mph. At that time the fastest planes could achieve a speed of between 600 and the speed of sound at 765mph.

After this sighting America reported a number of similar observations. A flying saucer was reported to have crashed in New Mexico. All the debris was taken to a secret base and the explanation given was that it was a weather balloon. Another crashed saucer was found in an adjacent American state in San Augustin, again no explanation was given. Other worldwide crashed UFO’s were all collected amid great secrecy and attempts to avoid public panic was by lame cover up stories.  The question still has to be asked, where is the damaged UFO material and what are the explanations?!

Another peculiar happening associated with UFO’s is crop circles that started in the late 1980s.With time circles became more widespread and extremely complicated with sections not accessible from tracks. This led to speculation that they were constructed by UFOs overnight and some researchers believing they are coded messages.

There have been a considerable number of what I would call ‘involuntary temporary abductions’ recorded. The first published example took place in 1961. A couple travelling home in Canada in the early hours realised the journey took two hours longer for no apparent reason. Subsequently they both experienced physical and psychological problems, after undergoing regressive hypnosis they relived being taken to a UFO to be examined by ufonauts

UFO’s are generally thought of as extra-terrestrials from who knows where? Man’s experience of space is limited to 12 men on the moon and many more on the International Space Station. Strange things have been seen there but the vast majority of sightings are made on terrestrial sky, land and water, leading to the conclusion they are based here, but where? There is credible video and witness evidence showing UFOs going underground, not via tunnels but similar to going into the sea but also into solid materials.

It has previously been announced that there will be an imminent official announcement regarding UFOs worldwide, but nothing has been forthcoming. We are still waiting, and it is long overdue!
