See the latest venture of the Royal Horticultural Society, Bridgewater Gardens, created on the former site of Worsley New Hall, a notable residence of its era, standing in glorious, formal landscaped gardens. Explore the glorious and varied gardens, set in 11 acres of historic landscapes of woodland, lakes and meadows. Featured gardens include the Weston Walled Garden, the Chinese streamside Garden and the Paradise Garden.
Further information about the construction of the gardens and a virtual tour can be found on the RHS Bridgewater website.
Shopping In the Garden Centre you can browse around the hundreds of plants and shrubs, including houseplants, find gardening equipment and a selection of homeware and gifts. Everyone will receive a £5 voucher (minimum spend £25) to use in the shop, including plant sales.
Food and Drink Lunch or refreshments are available from the Bridgewater Café and the Stables Café, whilst coffee and other drinks with snacks are available from the Shepherds Hut.

Access There are accessible pathways across most areas of the garden. Pathways in the Weston Walled Garden and those leading to Ellesmere Lake are made of tarmacadam with bonded stone chippings and are suitable for manual wheelchairs and mobility scooters. Paths around Ellesmere Lake are a mixture of stone paths, bark mulch and grass mown paths. Paths in the Lower Middle Wood are hard-core (not a smooth surface) and are not suitable for push wheelchairs.
There are manual wheelchairs available at the garden entrance for ‘on-the-day’ use and mobility scooters. Please request these on our booking form and we will book them. A £5 deposit is required by RHS on the day.
Booking forms for the Outing can be downloaded from the “Outings” page on the Ku3a website, or are available from the Outings table at Open Meetings.
